UVA’s fourth annual Student Oratory Contest will be held on Monday, November 18 at 5 p.m. in the Dome Room of the Rotunda. Prize money will increase to $1000 each for an undergrad and a graduate student winner, and dinner with the contestants and judges will follow the competition.

The Jefferson Independent is the only student-run independent news publication at the University of Virginia dedicated to viewpoint diversity. Committed to preserving the University’s rich heritage, TJI’s purpose is to protect and encourage free speech on UVA Grounds, to “follow truth wherever it may lead,” and to strive for a virtuous, reasoned, and objective future for all students.
